Theresa May is a Record-Breaker

Theresa May has achieved a great deal as a Member of Parliament, as Home Secretary, and as British Prime Minister (PM). As I document in Human Wrongs (iff Books) and elsewhere, May’s achievements include, but are by no means limited to, the following:
  • Enabling the arming and training of Saudi forces in Yemen, in what the UN describes as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world (Home Sec. and PM)
  • Enabling the training of Burmese forces committing genocide against Rohingya people (as Home Sec. and PM)
  • Voting for and implementing the deaths of 120,000 Britons with austerity (as Home Sec. and PM)
  • Aiding and later authorising murder of alleged, terrorist suspects via a Royal Air Force “kill list”  (as Home Sec. and PM)
  • Protecting child abusers in high positions by appointing unsuitable investigators, silencing survivors, and strategically losing vital documents (as Home Sec. and PM)
  • Creating a hostile environment for immigrants and asylum-seekers, including the unlawful deportation and visa revocations of 30,000 foreign students and prospective students
  • Enabling and later authorising the unlawful deportation of Britons and naturalised Britons to Caribbean and other islands on the sole basis that they are black (Windrush scandal) (as Home Sec. and PM)
  • Failing to rehouse many poor people after their tower bloc, Grenfell, caught fire (at least 72 dead) (as PM)
  • Making people homeless by not compensating them after the demolition of houses to build the largely defunct HS2 railway (as PM)
  • Having an “open door” policy for jihadis living in the UK to use them as fighters in Libya and Syria (one of whom, Salman Abedi, went on to allegedly murder 22 pop-concert attendees in Manchester) (as Home Sec. and PM)
The closing of May’s resignation speech elicited tears from the PM. There were no tears for the people she and her colleagues killed directly or indirectly, or for those whose lives she’s ruined. But in addition to these impressive and humane achievements, Theresa May has actually broken new ground as a Prime Minister. Here are her record-breaking achievements:
  • First PM to break from Britain’s strategy of ambiguity on the use of nuclear weapons by saying that she would be willing to murder 100,000 civilians with such a weapon
  • First PM to spark a grassroots effort to oust them through the party’s internal 1922 Committee
  • First PM to spark a (failed) 1922 Committee rule-change to oust them
  • First PM to be defeated three times with the same Bill
  • Biggest defeat in Parliamentary history (first reading of the Withdrawal Agreement Bill)

Well done, Theresa! You will be sorely missed.
